GUNxSWORD Trading Figures

So, the first anime I discovered for myself was GUNxSWORD, a totally awesome show about a character named Van. The show centers on his journey to avenge his dead bride after The Claw murders her. Van encounters a wide variety of characters throughout the show, mostly female characters that all seem to be in love with him in one way or another. Below are the trading figures made by Max Factory. The ladies from GUNxSWORD made for this trading line are from Ep 17: Follow the X Spot where Carmen, Wendy, Priscilla and Yukiko go undercover to an island ruled by a woman obsessed with bathing suits. Come on, how can you go wrong with a plot line like that?

Up first is Fasalina, a member of the Original Seven working along side The Claw. This tempting vixen is by far the sexiest in the series. Her voice, movements, and A later episode features her nearing a climax as she's fighting our hero, Van.

Fasalina is wearing a very revealing purple bathing suit with appropriate holes allowing whom ever to admire her lovely curves.

She's positioned on all fours, with flowing hair that reaches the floor in separate tendrils. Although the pose is hot, the emotion in her face is what does it for me. She has a distinct sadness about her, which makes her the most interesting out of the bunch. The sculpt is dead on and captures Fasalina's character. I hope there is an 1/8 figure in the works for her to go along with the other GUNxSword figures.

Probably my second favorite of this crew, Priscilla. She's wearing a modern white two-piece leaning back with legs crossed.

Priscilla is a fellow armor rider who is head over heels for Van. She doesn't do too much in Ep17, but when she's in her regular garb and riding Brownie, her quick and agile armor, she's ready for battle anytime.

Next is little Wendy Garret, my favorite character in the show. When I first began watching the series I didn't really like her; her character design is pretty odd, and she reminds you of that annoying little sister that won't shut up. But, as the show goes on you can't help but notice the huge changes she goes through. Like Van, she's on a journey too: to find her older brother, Michael. She believes that The Claw has abducted him, so she teams up with Van in search for her big bro. I don't want to give away too much, but believe me, if you watch the show (which I highly recommend), then you won't be able to stop yourself from being a Wendy G fan.

Yukiko, who doesn't do much in the anime but cook and hang out with the Old Timers, is here in a nice little number. She isn't wearing too much, which is good, but what isn't good were all the paint flaws on my figure. Her bikini top is scratched up pretty good, and she had a huge defect on her lower stomach. I had to take some sandpaper to her and smooth out her roughed up stomach, so now it looks like she has a huge birthmark. Luckily she has a removable skirt to show a near-bare ass, but I was still pretty disappointed that the figure had such an amount of flaws. Overall, issues aside, I'm not sure I like this figure too much. Its nice that she's got a hot ass, but her pose is pretty stupid and although the likeliness is good her, face looks dumb.

Tryin' to keep this G-rated

Finally, Carmen 99 comes in last with her orange bathing suit. She sports a fashionable suit with some missing pieces in all the right places. When watching the anime, I figured Carul...er...Carmen 99 was to be my favorite chick character...but although she is smokin hot, they didn't do too much with her character which leaves the viewer kinda like: ok...moving on. She was pretty funny in this episode, Follow the X Spot, and on the whole she's ready to kick some major butt, I guess I just wish she had a more intriguing storyline while she had screen time. Anyway, on to the figure. This isn't the best version Carul....er...Carmen 99 (I keep doing that, sorry, its from the show), but its not too bad. I was a little disappointed b/c the package kinda made her look cooler than she really was...but that's ok. I have a 1/8 Carmen beauty and another on the way from HK.

Overall: These were the first trading figures I'd ever purchase and I must say that the level of detail and quality is outstanding for such small figures. If your a fan of GUNxSWORD or just a fan of hot chicks in bikinis, then I'd recommend these figures. If all trading figures are on this level of goodness, then well...keep em coming!

And So It Began....

The day is Tues May 15 2007, a week before my 21st birthday. I've been wanting to create a blog for a while now, but never knew where to begin. I went to Google and typed in "How to make a Blog"....and there it was, the answer: 'Blogger: Create Your Blog Now!' So, I'm pretty excited to get this ball rolling.

On the whole I'll probably be talking about comics, anime, FIGURES, video games, tech gadgets, and other stuff. My main passion is collecting figures. The areas of interest like comics and anime have all been because of figures I've found based on their respective titles. Growing up I played with actions figures, and for some reason my love for the toy grew to an obsession. I've been collecting Toybiz's Marvel Legends for a while...what an amazing line. Hasbro has taken the mantle, and well...I'll leave that to another post. I have tons of DC Direct figures, along with anything Tomb Raider related.

I just recently, about 3 months ago, got into anime and all of its wonder. My hobbies of interest seem to be climbing in expense. Comics are cheap compared to a $26.99 Anime DVD full of only 4 episodes. Sheesh. I'm new to the game, but loving every minute of it. My newest love is the PVC figure. The moment I watched my first anime, Cowboy Bebop WOOT!, I was determined to find a Spike figure. After that, it was over. I've been spending money over fist for these little beauties. Actually, now that I think about it the figures that started it all for me were those old Disney PVC figures you'd get at the Disney Store or Disneyland. Its funny how things come full circle. The Anime PVC figures are way more expensive than the $8.99 Marvel Legends fig, but boy oh boy what a difference in quality. I remember complaining when they raised the price for a ML fig from $7.99 to $8.99, and here I am spending well over $50 for most PVC treasures. Anyway, I'm planning on uploading pictures of my own collection of figures, figures I want to buy (but probably don't have the money for), and anything else that looks cool.
